Who we are
Our websites are:
Both domains are owned and operated by the same entity. Any references to “our website,” “we,” or “us” apply to both websites collectively.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on either of our sites, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you’re using it. You can view the Gravatar privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture may be visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to our websites, please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract location data from images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter them next time. These cookies last for one year.
When you visit our login page, a temporary cookie is set to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close the browser.
When you log in, we also set up cookies to save your login details and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, screen option cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is stored in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data—just the post ID—and expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on our sites may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). This embedded content behaves exactly as if the visitor has visited the original website.
These third-party websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the content, especially if you are logged in to their site.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows us to approve any future comments automatically.
For users who register (if applicable), we store the personal information in their profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their data anytime (except for the username). Admins can also view and edit this information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on our sites or have left comments, you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you provided. You may also request deletion of your personal data, except for any data we must retain for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
